What is Anchor Hospital?

Located in College Park on fifty-five acres near Atlanta' Hartsfield International Airport, Anchor Hospital is a 101-bed facility providing community based behavioral health and chemical dependency services to adults and adolescents age 12 and older.

When did Anchor open?

The creation of Anchor Hospital in 1986 was a very personal endeavor for its founder, the Honorable Juanita Marsh. Judge Marsh saw a family member permanently debilitated as a result of drug abuse. This life event was the motivation behind the creation of Anchor Hospital.

- The Adolescent Inpatient Program offers a highly structured stabilization program with 24-hour nursing care for adolescents with behavioral and/or substance abuse issues. Adolescent care includes individual, group, and family therapy.

Where do most of Anchor patients come from?

Anchor is a community-based hospital. As such, most of our patients come from the greater Atlanta area. Due to our excellent reputation, we do get many patients from central Georgia as well.

Who can refer someone to Anchor Hospital?

We welcome referrals by medical or mental health caregivers, case managers, employee assistance programs, family members, community agencies, hospitals, clergy, friends and patients themselves. If you would like further information, call our representative at (770)991-6044. If the patient lives outside of the metropolitan Altanta area, call the toll free number, (866)667-8797.

Where are patients referred upon completion of treatment?

Patients return to their clinician. If patients do not have an established clinician, Anchor works closely with a statewide network of mental health professionals to arrange individual referrals.

Will my insurance company pay for the services?

Anchor Hospital works closely with patients, their families, agency representatives, insurance companies, EAPs and managed care providers to determine all possible payment options. In addition, Anchor Hospital will accept direct payment of fees for individuals who do not have or want to use insurance. We are an approved provider for most major insurance companies and managed care plans.

What aftercare programs are available?
