Assessment and Referral Services
Anchor's Assessment and Referral
Services are available 24 hours per day, seven days per week. Assessments
are free of charge and are conducted by Master's level counselors,
Registered Nurses or other qualified Mental Health Professionals.
Inpatient
Programs
Anchor's
acute inpatient services operate 24-hours per day, seven days per week.
Specialty programs or tracks include: Adult Psychiatric, Adult Addictive
Disease and Adolescent Services.
Psychiatric
Program
The
Adult Psychiatric Program provides admission for intensive
diagnostic evaluation and treatment to stabilize and treat individuals
in crisis. The program treats individuals age 18 and older with
a wide range of psychiatric disorders including, but not limited
to: major depression, bi-polar disorder, anxiety disorders, schizophrenia, dissociative
disorders and other stress-related disorders. Patients are assigned
to groups according to their functional level and, at times, according
to their legal status.
Addictive
Disease Services
Addictive
Disease Services are provided on a unit located adjacent
to the Adult Psychiatric program. Headed by a Board Certified Addictionologist,
Anchor's program treats patients ages 18 or older with primary diagnosis
of addictive disease. Co-occurring psychiatric and substance diagnoses
are treated simultaneously with a clear recognition that stabilizing
or arresting of the addiction is the most immediate concern upon
entering treatment. Treatment is based on the 12 Steps and Principles
of AA/NA.
The
Addiction Stabilization Unit is an inpatient chemical dependency rehabilitation program that delivers ASAM III.7 level of care. Developed in conjunction with the nationally renowned Talbott Recovery Center, Talbott at Anchor will, in an integrated manner, address the specific and changing needs of patients. For example, patients transitioning from acute inpatient care, but who may not be ready for Partial Hospitalization or Intensive Outpatient treatment. Also, patients who are returning to treatment following a relapse or other event requiring intervention. Additionally, patients presenting for treatment, perhaps for the first time, needing a 24-hour per day, clinically staffed and medically monitored environment following detox.
Adolescent
Services
Adolescents
ages 12 through 17 meeting criteria for inpatient services are treated
in a sub-section of A-hall. Adolescents experiencing behavioral,
emotional, addictive disease and/or post-traumatic stress disorders
(PTSD) are eligible for admission. Treatment is provided by a multi-disciplinary
team including physicians, therapists, nurses and specialized case
managers. Treatment is based on a family systems model incorporating
concepts of family therapy, group therapy and supportive individual
therapy.
Outpatient
Programs
Partial
Hospitalization Program
Anchor offers separate and distinct Partial Hospitalization services to the adult and adolescent addictive diseases and adult and adolescent psychiatric populations.
Each program has a team of staff assigned to conduct individual
case management, group therapy, psychoeducational groups and, as
indicated, family therapy. Both programs share a Registered Nurse
to assess physical/medical needs and to perform medication monitoring
and education. The Addictive Services Program operates under the
12 Step philosophy.
The
Intensive Outpatient Program is provided in combination
with the Partial Hospitalization Program. Patients attend either
the morning or afternoon groups for a total of three hours per day,
three-to-five days per week.
The
Psychiatric Intensive Outpatient Program is provided in conjunction
with the Adult Psychiatric Hospitalization Program. It also offers
the flexibility of attending either morning or afternoon sessions
three hours per day, three-to-five days per week. There is also an
Evening IOP program.
